To compare the values of two religious leaders
Instruction and differentiated activities:
Compare the stories of Gandhi and King and order key words into a table.
During the plenary get children to highlight values that they feel might be common to many people of greatness.

To consider different values displayed by Moses at different times of his life
Instruction and differentiated activities:
Use a jumbled story of Moses and place into the correct order.
The children should then discuss the different parts of the story and identify which values Moses used /learned at each part.

To use qualities identified about Buddha as a starting point for reflecting on their own lives

Children to work in small groups writing a summary of themselves for a school year book

Using clay, children could make grave stones / epitas with quotes about themselves / Buddha (if you prefer), for display

Jigsaw activity to identify the 10 main Gurus and their main contribution

Learning Intention:
To identify the qualities of true religious leaders

NOTE: This lesson is repeated in the 'Right and Wrong' lesson plan
Instruction and differentiated activities:
Identify three religious leaders (Jesus, Mohammed, Buddha) - what do the children know about them?
Prompt as necessary
Identify key words that might be appropriate
Use an A3 Venn diagram, and cut up key words. Children to work in groups placing key words where they feel appropriate
In the plenary, children to explain WHY they felt some characteristics could be attributed to some and not others. Why? Which were common? Why?
